How to descale a Bosch TASSIMO STYLE coffee machine?

When the TASSIMO STYLE shows a red light next to 'calc', it's time to descale your coffee machine. Follow the steps below or watch the video on how to descale TASSIMO STYLE.

  1. To descale your TASSIMO STYLE coffee machine, you'll need 2 Bosch TASSIMO descaling tablets, a container of min. 17 fl. oz. (500 ml), and a cloth for cleaning.

  2. Take the water tank from the back of your TASSIMO STYLE machine and fill with water up to the marking 'calc' (spray icon). Add the two descaling tablets and wait until they are fully dissolved. Place the water tank back in the machine.

  3. Remove the Service Disc (the orange disc) from the bottom right side of your TASSIMO STYLE machine. Place the Service Disc where your normally place your coffee pod, with the barcode facing down. Also, don't forget to remove the cup stand.

  4. Place the container under the machine and press and hold the start/stop button for about 5 seconds. Once the descaling cycle starts, the status and descaling displays will flash.

  5. After approximately 30 minutes, the status (cup icon) and descaling (spray icon) displays will light up. You've now completed the first stage of the descaling cycle. Now, empty the container and clean the water tank with a soft cloth.

  6. Fill the water tank to the maximum mark and place it back. Then, place back the empty container and press the start/stop button briefly to start the cleaning program.

  7. The status light (cup icon) will flash during cleaning. Once it lights up permanently, the program is done. Empty the container and repeat the same cleaning program (from step 6) 2 more times to make sure all the descaling solution is gone.

  8. Once finished, remove the Service Disc and stow away in the bottom right of your TASSIMO STYLE again. Fill the water tank with fresh water and place it back into the machine. Your TASSIMO STYLE is now ready to make your favourite drink!
