TASSIMO SUNY descaling instructions

TASSIMO SUNY descaling instructions

When the TASSIMO SUNY descale light (the spray icon, the third light from top) lights up, it means that it's time to descale your coffee machine. Watch the descaling instruction video or follow the steps below.

  1. To descale your TASSIMO SUNY coffee machine, you'll need 2 Bosch TASSIMO descaling tablets, a container of at least 17 fl. oz. (500 ml) and a cloth.

  2. Remove the water tank from the back of your TASSIMO SUNY and fill it with water up to the marking calc (spray icon). Add the two descaling tablets and wait until they are fully dissolved. Place the water tank back in the machine.

  3. Remove the Service Disc (the yellow disc) from the bottom left side of your TASSIMO SUNY machine. Place the Service Disc where your normally place your coffee pod, with the barcode facing down. Also, don't forget to remove the cup stand.

  4. Place the container under the machine and press and hold the start/stop button for about 5 seconds. Once the descaling cycle starts, the status and descaling displays will flash.

  5. After about 30 minutes, the status (cup icon) and descaling (spray icon) displays will light up. This means the first stage is done. Now, empty the container and clean the water tank with a soft cloth.

  6. Fill the water tank to the maximum mark and place it back. Then, place back the empty container and press the start/stop button briefly to start the cleaning program.

  7. The status light (cup icon) will flash during cleaning. Once it lights up permanently, the program is done. Empty the container and repeat the same cleaning program (from step 6) 2 more times to make sure all the descaling solution is gone.

  8. Once finished, remove the Service Disc and stow away in the bottom left of your TASSIMO SUNY again. Fill the water tank with fresh water and place it back into the machine. Your TASSIMO SUNY is now ready to make your favourite drink!

TASSIMO SUNY Troubleshooting

We are always happy to help! Do you have any questions about your Bosch TASSIMO SUNY coffee machine? Below you can find the frequently asked questions for TASSIMO SUNY. Can't find an answer? Have a look at our Troubleshooting page or contact our customer service.

Why does my TASSIMO SUNY show a red light?

Does your TASSIMO SUNY show a red light for the marking 'calc' (spray icon)? This means you need to descale your coffee machine. Is it the status display (cup icon) that gives a red light? This is the error light. Please check if you inserted a T DISC, if the machine was closed properly and if the barcode scanner was clean. More info on the red cup icon and other error lights can be found in the 'TASSIMO lights' section on the Troubleshooting page.

Which coffee pods can I use in my TASSIMO SUNY?

All T DISCs, the official TASSIMO pods, are compatible with your TASSIMO Suny coffee machine. There are no specific TASSIMO Suny pods, all TASSIMO pods fit in your Suny. Buy your T DISCs online or in your local supermarket.

Why is my TASSIMO SUNY leaking water?

If your TASSIMO SUNY is leaking or dripping, this might be caused by a damaged T DISC. Use your coffee pods only once and don't use damaged ones. Remove the TASSIMO pod and clean your machine. If there is no damage in the T DISC, please check the removeable parts in the head of your machine. Make sure they are inserted correctly. Try pressing the piercing unit into the holder by using both of your thumbs.
