Is the machine starting and does it sound like preparing a drink?
No. The brewing will not start. Go to Solution 2.
Yes. The brewing starts, but my TASSIMO coffee machine does not give any drink. Go to Solution 3.
Your coffee machine might be in idle mode or it might be having power issues. Press the Start/Stop button to start the machine again. Is this not working? Check if the machine has power supply. Unplug, wait at least 10 seconds and re-insert the plug into the socket. Is your machine not working, while the lights are on? Please check 3.
Follow the steps below if your TASSIMO is on, but not working as expected. The cup light might be lighting up red.
Please check if you have inserted a T DISC (the official TASSIMO coffee pods). If not, insert one. If you did, it might be that your machine was not on when you inserted the T DISC. First turn on your machine, than insert the coffee pod.
Another reason might be that your coffee machine was not closed properly. Check if the head can be closed completely. Clean the brewing unit with a soft, damp cloth, paying particular attention to the lid area.
Or your TASSIMO could not read the T DISC barcode properly. Follow the steps below to have your machine working again:
Clean the barcode scanner in your machine with a soft, damp cloth.
Check if the T DISC you used is not damaged. If damaged, use a new T DISC.
If not damaged, make sure the barcode is readable. Smooth out the foil of the T DISC with your finger so that the bar code can be read.
If your coffee machine sounds like preparing your drink, but nothing is in your cup, there is probably something with your water tank. First check if the tank is inserted correctly. If the thank is in the right place, check the water float. If stuck, clean the water tank and free the float. Try if your TASSIMO will prepare your drink now. Do not remove the tank during the preparation of your coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
Every TASSIMO coffee machine has Display LED lights to communicate its’ status and needs. Most machines have three lights: the status display (cup), water tank display (tank with water tap) and the descale display (spray or ‘calc’). Please check the manual of your specific coffee machine to find where each light can be found. We’ll walk you through all the lights and what you should do.
Your coffee machine's status LED (cup-shaped) informs you of its condition. If it flashes, your TASSIMO is preparing your beverage or starting up. If it turns red, your machine is experiencing a problem. Please follow the instructions in solution 2 in the section above.
When the icon with the tank and the water tap (the water tank display) lights up, there is not enough water in the tank. Please fill your tank with fresh, cold water as far as the max mark. Reinsert the water tank. If there is still plenty of water, check if the water tank is inserted correctly and if the float is not stuck. Still not working? Follow Solution 3 in the section above or call our customer service.
A red light indicates you need to descale your Bosch TASSIMO coffee machine. The descaling indicator light is, for most TASSIMO machines, the bottom light. It’s a spray icon or it says ‘calc’. Please descale immediately when the red indicator light is on or when it starts flashing.
If there are more multiple indicator lights flashing simultaneously, there might be an issue with your coffee machine. Please check which ones are flashing, to find the correct solution.
LED calc or spray (descaling display) and the cup (status display) flash simultaneously. Don’t worry, the descaling process is running. Wait until the descaling cycle is completed, before using your coffee machine again.
Water tank display (tank with tap icon) and descaling display (‘calc’ or spray icon) are flashing simultaneously and it is not possible to prepare drinks. Follow Solution 2 in the section above, or contact customer service.
All warning lights are flashing. There is a problem with the power supply. Please unplug, wait 10 seconds and plug back in. If the problem persists, contact customer service or have the voltage of your power supply checked by an electrician.
Sometimes, your drink turns out not the way you like it. It is important to clean and descale your TASSIMO coffee machine regularly, to get the best drink quality. Below you will find solutions to improve your coffee, tea and hot chocolate quality.
If your drink looks off, please clean your machine thoroughly. Make sure the beverage outlet and the brewing unit are clean. If limescale is visible in your TASSIMO, start the descaling cycle.
When your coffee is smaller than expected, your cup is not entirely filled or it’s too much, you can adapt the quantity next time. The barcode on the T DISC provides the recommended volume for every beverage selected. This volume can also be adapted to personal requirements, whether you would like more or less coffee.
Reduced quantity: During the brewing process, press the Start / Stop button to interrupt this stage. Coffee will stop flowing.
Increased quantity: Press and hold the Start / Stop button until the required coffee quantity has been reached.
